What do these 3 animals have in common?

Their TEETH are my WORST NIGHTMARE.

(If you don't like to talk about boobs, nursing, or the word "nipples"...skip this story)

While I was pregnant with our first, Toby, I kept hearing horror stories of how bad breastfeeding was. How, especially in the beginning, it was just torture on one's nipples! I could think of few more painful things that could happen to my body. Anyhow thanks to these stories I started having nightmares about different animals latching onto me. The first was this whacked out dream of me giving birth to a teeny little alligator and then being told that it was time to feed it and having to hook all of its hundreds of sharp pointy teeth up to me and enduring the pain because I had to feed this stupid alligator. Not good. The other one was that I came across this old barn in the middle of who-knows-where, and found an emaciated baby horse who was starving and felt that the only moral decision would be to let it partake of my milk and so hesitatingly I let this horse and his big horse teeth also latch on. Luckily these nightmares did not overlap and they weren't nursing simultaneously. But now I have a new nightmare evolving in real life. Chase decided to cut his first 2 teeth this past week at 5 months old. What the...?! My first two kids didn't get teeth until after 8 months, just about the time when I finished up the nursing thing. We'll see how long this lasts.

You should be thankful that your reality is Chase with only 2 teeth.

funny!

Sad to hear you have shin splints too. Running on the grass makes them hurt less while i'm running but it certainly hasn't been the cure. I've tried a lot of things. I've wrapped, iced, taken ibuprofen, done tapping exercises and even took a 2 month break. Nothing has worked. The break was nice but then the first time back about 3 minutes into a very moderate jog they started hurting again. I've just been pushing though this time because I'm tired of not exercising. Its hard to get skinny again when you're legs don't work. If you find something that cures yours holler.

I love that story... classic! Isn't it just hilarious how what others say, especially when your expecting, just gets in to your head. Major props for sharing this story publicly... public? private? as Pete would say:)

Hysterical! I love that your maternal instincts extend beyond babies to wild animals and livestock.

Are you my real daughter? (You have always had the most graphic and best remembered nightmares!)

I love your dreams, they're hilarious! Ethan got his first teeth at 3 months and Austin got his at about 4 or 5 months, and I managed to nurse for a year with both of them, so you can do it!! Austin wasn't really a biter, but whenever Ethan was teething he'd bite down HARD. I'd usually just pull him away and stop nursing. It didn't take him long to learn that biting = no milk. He wasn't a fan of that.

I don't know what is going on in your sub-conscious, but animal dreams seem to be quite a common occurence. Alligators, horses, scorpions...anything else? Hahaha! Funny blog.

You're scaring me! I forgot about the whole nursing babies with teeth thing. I'm due any day now and hope she won't have teeth for a while. Now that I remember though, Max got teeth at 4 months. I flicked his cheeks a few times and he got the message! I continued to nurse until he was 10 months. Hang in there!
