Bali Day 1

The first 24 hours consisted of traveling from JFK
to Anchorage, Alaska
,
then a few hours in Taipei, Taiwan where we met up with Brad and Chanel
Greasy hair...beautiful.
Taipei layover
and then finally arrived 5 hours later in Denpasar, Bali.

After such a long time in the air we did not have much patience for the 2 hour long wait in customs. Seriously, I wanted to kill someone by the time I got through. Luckily, no one died.

We took a taxi to our beautiful resort in Nusa Dua, and all the frustration from the airport seemed to melt away as we were taken in by the beauty of this place. So, so, beautiful.

We walked the beach of the hotel, gawked at the models of a photo shoot on our beach and took a swim and then went to Ulam, a balinese restaurant not too far away.

Also, we were sad to find out that Sting's song Fields of Gold does not talk about Bali at all.

You'll remember me when the west wind moves
Upon the fields of barley
You'll forget the sun in his jealous sky
As we walk in the fields of gold

Who writes a song about Barley? Sting did apparently. We still wanted to make it our theme song while we're here so we're just calling Bali, Barley from now on.

We are so tired, have swollen feet and ankles from the flight, and are missing our boys but are really looking forward to having some fun while we're here. I'll try to post our adventures while I'm here and it's fresh in my brain.

Barley is AWESOME.

(Thank Grammy and Papa for taking the boys!!!)

Hi Todd and Ashley,
The long travel times are a killer aren't they!! But worth it when you get to your destination. Its easier for us though as everywhere is far away! Hope you have a good time/good waves while you are in Bali - and don't get too annoyed by the droves of Aussies on holiday!
Kathryn!
